The in’s and out of SEO

Search Engine Optimisation

SEO consists of a variety of components. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and you have 3 kinds of SEO.

  • On-page SEO – Anything on your web pages – Blogs, product copy, web copy.
  • Off-page SEO – Anything which happens away from your website that helps with your SEO Strategy – Backlinks.
  • Technical SEO – Anything technical undertaken to improve Search Rankings – site indexing to help bot crawling.

On-Page SEO

On – Page SEO

On – Page SEO consists of items within your web pages. This type of work is completed within the actual 4 corners of the website. It begins with going through each page of the website and begins with optimising the keywords within the pages and your H1, H2, H3 etc… Headings. You first need an understanding of what someone would type into Google to get to your website. The you want to focus on those phrases/words and base your website and pages around the specific terms.

Off – Page SEO

Off – Page SEO consists of items which occur outside of your actual website. One major aspect of this is Backlinks. Backlinks are links from other reputable websites, linking back to your website and therefore increasing your domain authority which is your websites score out of 100. The higher your domain authority the stronger your website will rank. A lot of companies pay freelancers on fiverr to create backlinks but this is the worst possible way to go about it as they create cheap backlinks from weak sites which actually brings down your Domain Authority score as they are not reputable sources.

Off-Page SEO

Technical SEO

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is done outside of the website again but using external software’s to detect issues within the website like broken links or missing meta descriptions etc… which allows you to go through and fix up every SEO issue which could be costing you visitors on a daily basis.
